Black Oak Casino Resort, an enterprise owned and operated by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians, today announced the appointment of Joseph Bernardi as its new Poker Manager. The position come as the casino-resort prepares to open a new Poker Room on 30 April.

Bernardi brings more than 25 years of diverse casino experience to his new position. Prior to joining the team at Black Oak Casino Resort, he served as Poker Manager for Greektown Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan. He held similar roles at casinos across the country, including Jena Choctaw Pines Casino in Dry Pong, Louisiana, Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

His extensive expertise in table games will be essential to his position as Poker Manager and in establishing the new poker room. In the role, Bernardi will be responsible for startup operations for the room as well as implementing effective marketing, training and its policies and procedures. He also will manage employee delegation, budget, training, promotions and tournaments.

Slated to open in May, Black Oak Casino Resort's new poker room will have six tables dealing Texas Hold'em and Omaha. It will offer a full schedule of promotions and tournaments.
